We Punekars work really hard! After facing the torture of our bosses, five days of the week, the weekend brings some much-needed respite. Good weather, great nightlife and unnecessary sarcasm, we Punekars have it all! Even though there are so many happening clubs and bars in Balewadi High Street and Koregaon Park, Pune still doesn’t have its own Social. Yes, the club that featured in Ranbir-Deepika starrer Tamasha.
But Punekars, you need not worry! The officials at Social Offline have disclosed in an exclusive interview with Reacho that the much popular cafe and bar will soon start in Pune.
“Pune is a great city for any hospitality business. The booming IT sector and major educational institutes have brought in a lot of people from all over India. Our brand is doing exceptionally well in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. We can’t wait to serve Punekars, too!”, said an official.
The opening of the first Social club in Pune is scheduled in May and the locality chosen is Koregaon Park.
This news might not go down well with Mumbaikars who considered Social to be their personal asset and Pune, a lame step sister of Mumbai.
While youngsters from Pune are waiting for Social to open, with a bated breath, Sadashiv Peth’s Joshi Kaka has a different story to tell!
He has issued several rules and regulations which the owners of Pune franchise will need to follow for the smooth functioning of the club.
“ The club will be closed in the afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm, PST. PST stands for ‘Pune Standard Time.’ We Punekars don’t work during these hours. Also, we want Chitale’s bakarwadi to be added on the list of munchings as we follow PM Modi’s Make in India policy,” said Joshi Kaka.
He also added that the interiors of the club should be decorated by authentic Puneri paatis, in order to keep drunkards in their limits.
I just can’t wait to plan my weekends in Social! May, come soon!
