While addressing the concluding ceremony of city BJP executive meeting yesterday, Union minister for road transport, highways, shipping and water resources Nitin Gadkari announced that Yeshwant stadium would be replaced by a new, four-storeyed, multi-purpose stadium.
The new structure would be constructed on the lands covering Patrkar Bhawan, government library and Yeshwant stadium.
He also talked about the multi-modal transport hub saying, the decision regarding the Rs 800 crore project’s location would be taken after 22nd September.
The former BJP president said, “Projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore will be executed in and around the city. Detailed project report of Nagpur-Hyderabad expressway is ready. Some 50,000 youths from the city are all set to get employment. HCL has decided to recruit 2,500 youths from the city. Plan is to make available 50,000 houses at Rs 2.50-3 lakh per house. Already, bhoomipuja for construction of 10,000 houses has been performed. East Nagpur will get Sickle cell and thalassaemia hospital-cum-research centre, Symbiosis University and SAI Regional Centre. Various projects including London Street Of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will materialize soon."

He also said that the Nag River rejuvenation project, that is using Japan-based JICA funds, is to start before 2019. "Target is to increase irrigated area of the state from 22% to 40%. Farmers suicide will come to an end once irrigation target is achieved. We also plan to replace all manual rickshaws with e-rickshaws in the city," he added.
The inaugural programme was also attended by the guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who talked about a survey conducted by Maharashtra CM, which suggested that BJP was going to win 175 of 288 seats in 2019 legislative assembly elections. “BJP will get clear majority and form the next government on its own. Fadnavis will again be chief minister. PM Narendra Modi will also get a second term as BJP is going to win 399 Lok Sabha seats,” he explained.
Bawankule added that the voters are happy with the development projects that the BJP led government is implementing. He also said that the party activists should meet people to clear confusion about the government projects.
MP Ajay Sancheti tabled a proposal of appreciation of the Prime Minister before the executive committee. Sudhakar Kohle, City BJP president tabled a proposal appreciating Fadnavis’ work.
Kohle further asked the party members to 2 hours a day for meeting people to inform them about the various development projects carried out around the city.
The rest of the proceedings of the meeting were conducted by BJP general secretary Sandeep Joshi.
