In the Deolapar range of Mansinghdeo Wildlife Sanctuary, a major tiger poaching racket was exposed after the arrest of two persons. On June 27, 12 kg bones and 14 tiger nails were seized from two fishermen identified as Devidas Kumre and Babulal Kumre of Usripaar. The tiger was killed in Golpahadi area in compartment No 524 of the tiger reserve.
The two accused are also involved in illegal fishing in Totladoh reservoir inside Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR), Maharashtra. On Friday, on the information given by the two, some more body parts were recovered from the Deolapar area. Both the accused have confessed to killing the tiger.
They were produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Ramtek, who granted forest custody remand (FCR) to both till July 7.
