The standing committee of Nagpur Municipal Corportaion (NMC) gave its nod to convert 250 classrooms of 150 NMC school into digital ones. The classroom facelift is estimated to cost Rs 7.06 crores to the civic body. The digital systems that will be installed in the classrooms will be ‘All In One e-Learning Device Interactive system’.
Pradip Pohane, the newly nominated chairman, presided over two meetings of standing committee last week. The committee then approved for implementing the digital classrooms project. The project will also comprise of electing six technical persons in order to operate the digital classrooms and conduct remote based MCQ exam.
The otherwise cash-strapped NMC will not find the expenses for this project cumbersome, for the funds to set up the project will be procured from the state government as assured by the guardian minister Chandrashekar Bawankule.
The committee has also sanctioned a sum of Rs 32.08 lakhs for Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad’s lighting and sound system to Prosound System. The event was held between February 22 and 25 whereas the proposal was received now for approval.
