Initiated by CM Devendra Fadnavis with Nitin Gadkari, the Vivekananda memorial is serving as quite a great tourist attraction. The beautiful memorial which is now finally complete was under NMC’s control, for which 17 acres of land were allotted to the Ambazari overflow point.
A magnificent bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda, 20 ft in height, was installed on a 30 ft pedestal, making it the tallest statue in Central India.
This glorious statue is carved by famous sculptor, Padmashree, and now, Padma Vibhushan Ram Sutar at his Noida Art Studio.
There is huge meditation center under the statute for the bhakts. Also the surrounding of the statute is crafted with bright lights and greenery and a fountain is also constructed to make the spot look more attractive.
The memorial also includes an exhibition of pictures depicting Swamiji’s life incidents. To add to that there are 15 LED screens which show 36 of Swamiji’s of stories, narrated in both hindi and english. Also many of the Swamiji’s life incidents are showcased through 28 different mural paintings.
