Nagpur Municipal Corporation's First Ever E-Library Inaugurated By Nitin Gadkari

The e-library was built by former mayor and corporator Pravin Datke.

In a first of its kind, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) got its own e-library on Saturday. The library was inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, the union minister for road transport, highways, shipping and water resources. An old, abandoned school building in Ratan Colony of Chitnavispura was refurbished for setting up of the library.

The e-library was built by former mayor and corporator Pravin Datke. Gadkari took the inauguration as an opportunity and praised Datke for his attempt to bring about this revolutionary development. The e-library is equipped with modern facilities for the students’ usage. Gadkari also suggested setting up of a recreational facility for the senior citizens in the vicinity.

NMC has installed a couple of computers and provided an internet connection in the e-library. The students can now use the facility for preparing for online exams and entrance exams as well. The e-library is also replete with a reading room and books in it.

Also seen at the occasion were: mayor Nanda Jichkar, ruling party leader Sandip Joshi, municipal commissioner Ashwin Mudgal, MLA Vikas Kumbhare, deputy mayor Deepraj Pardikar, corporators Sumedha Deshpande, Neha Waghmare, Dharampal Meshram, Pramod Chikhle, Pintu Zelke, Divya Dhurde, Sarika Nandurkar, Rajesh Ghodpage, Bhagwan Mendhe etc.
