Nagpurians have been finding themselves in heavy traffic all the time nowadays. Nagpur Metro Rail Limited Corporation (NMRCL) has decided to alleviate the traffic problems by starting a toll-free helpline and complaint centre. In the coming days, the centre is going to be set up on Wardha Road near the main gate of the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI).
An NMRCL official informed that since the construction of Metro Rail, locals were facing a lot of trouble. Through this helpline, the official said that not only complaints but suggestions can also be given. So if someone feels that the crane is moving too slow or if there are heaps of uncleared mud, NMRCL will take note of the grievances and work towards correcting them.
Smarthana Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) has also assured to look in matter of illegal parking and taking action against the vehicle owners. The NMRCL official also said that a dedicated WhatsApp number had been provided by NMRCL for sending the footage of traffic rule violation.
The main problem is that people are parking their vehicles in No parking Zone on Wardha Road. The road has already become narrow due to the construction while speeding of buses and trucks on the road makes it more troublesome for the officials to handle the citizens.
NMRCL officials are also going to organize a selfie contest to make people aware about the Metro Rail project. In October the information centre at Kasturchand Park will have the background of the new airport station and citizens will be able to take selfies there. The two best selfies will be awarded.
