On Wednesday, a 40-year-old man was reportedly thrashed by four men in Nagpur's Bharsingi area, suspecting that he was carrying beef.

The four accused were arrested on the basis of a video released by ANI on social media.

Reportedly, the victim’s name is Ismail Shah and he was travelling on his two-wheeler when four men stopped him and accused him of carrying cow meat.

Shah tried to convince them that the meat was not beef but the assailants paid no heed and continued to thrash the man. The report further added that all accused belong to Prahar Sangathan.

Vijaykumar Tiwari, Jalalkheda Police Inspector told Indian Express:

“Salim Ismail Shah, 32, was carrying 15 kgs of meat on his motorcycle from Amner village to Katol, when he was accosted by four persons who beat him up, alleging he was carrying beef. Shah sustained injuries for which he was admitted to a hospital, from where he has been discharged.”
