A PIL has been dismissed by the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, on Thursday alleging disparity in the appointment of government lawyers to Chandrapur district and sessions court.
The PIL was filed by social activist Prabhakar Gedam.
The decision has been taken after hearing all the arguments from both the grounds, the court inquest that while appointing government lawyers, opinion or recommendation of the chief judicial magistrate is not necessary.
However, the petitioner says that the government's additional public prosecutors, additional and assistant government leaders were appointed with notices on March 23, May 3 and 10, 2016.
The petitioner claimed that the appointments were not complying with guidelines issued by the Supreme Court and High Court. And during their recruitment, the recommendations of the chief judicial magistrate were not considered and were politically influenced.
