Convict of the infamous ‘Kush Katariya’ murder case, Ayush Pugaliya was found murdered in the Nagpur Central Jail at 7:30 am, on Monday morning.
According to the sources, a fellow inmate used a heavy tile to kill Pugaliya which lead to uncontrollable bleeding and him dying on spot. The incident took place when Ayush left to use the washroom beside his cell.
Ayush was convicted of kidnapping and murdering an eight-year-old boy, Kush Katariya and was serving a rare triple life jail term. The administrators of Central jail informed the Dhantoli police station and the fellow inmate was taken away for interrogation. The identity and details of the inmate have not been disclosed by the jail authorities.
When Ayush’s family was contacted, they said the jail authorities haven’t yet confirmed the news of his death to them and blame the jail authorities for being irresponsible.
The body of the deceased is still within the jail premises for panchnama, after which the body will be taken for post-mortem.
Pugaliya was given a prize for excelling in the exam conducted on Gandhian thoughts in May 2017.
