Agnes Henderson Memorial or 1840 Church
Founded by Sir Stephen Hislop along with Scottish missionaries in 1840, this church plays an important role in Nagpur's history. It is said that the church was initially built for the British officers and their families. Later, when India got independence, the place was opened for public.
Lourd Mata Church
Situated in one of the most peaceful areas of Nagpur, Lourd Mata Church was built in 1892. During Christmas, the place is beautifully decorated with lights and candles. In addition to the statues of Lord Judicious and Mother Mary, the church also has an beautiful small pond with ducks and fishes.
All Saints' Cathedral
All Saints' Cathedral church, situated at Residency Road, Sadar, opposite VCA stadium is one of the oldest churches in the city. The architecture of the church was done by famous British architect Colonel Harley Maxwell of the Royal Bengal Engineers.
After its foundation in 1850, the church was turned into Cathedral of the Diocese in 1912.
On Christmas Eve, the church is beautifully decorated and various programs are also organized.
St. Francis de Sales Cathedral
This one has to be city’s most picturesque church. The interior of the church is a replica of Italian master Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper.
Built in 1897, the ceiling of the church is inspired by Parisian churches. Surely one of those places in Nagpur that takes you back in time.
Methodist Episcopal Church
17 members of Methodist Marathi Church started this one under a small shed in 1876. Later in 1887, the church was built in Civil Lines. Every Sunday, the church witnesses over 200 devotees.
St. Anthony's Church
St. Anthony's Church was established in 1935 by Father Vincent Lucasz. Although the church isn't huge or has fancy interiors, it is peaceful enough to connect you with the spiritual soul.
