There are universities and then there is RTMNU. In a major goof up, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTNMU) sent wrong question papers to the BBA students.

On the very first day of their exam, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) final-year students received wrong question papers across different exam halls. Due to this, the students and officials had to face a lot of trouble.

The exam which was scheduled from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, was rescheduled and got over only at 2.30 pm. This also affected the second shift of the exam which was supposed to start at 2.30 pm at many centers.

As the first three questions were same, it took a while for the students to understand that the question paper they were answering was from the old course.

Even though the center officials quickly informed the university, it took over one-and-a-half-hour for RTMNU’s exam section to e-mail the correct file to the exam halls.

While the director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation, Neeraj Khaty confessed that the wrong question paper was delivered online, he didn’t admit the fact that there was a delay in sending the correct paper.

TOI quoted him as saying, “As soon as it (the mistake) was reported, the correct file was mailed to all centers.”

Some students have even complained that the RTMNU exam officials had allegedly asked them to keep mum over this issue.

As this news came out, NU’s same old blame game has started. However, the center in-charges have cleared their position by saying that there wasn't much they could do apart from printing what was received.

“The online system is such that we have to print what we receive in the mailbox. The question papers are mailed by the university an hour before the exam starts. We take one printout of this file which is then photocopied as per requirement. There was no chance for any confusion as only one set was received,” TOI quoted a center in-charge.
