Reacting to the proposal made by the city police commissioner’s office, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has finally sanctioned Rs 12.21 crore for the urgent beautification of police quarters and roads in Police Line Takli.
The money for the same has been transferred from the state home ministry funds.
"After a proposal was forwarded by the city police commissioner’s office for urgent works required, the matter was pursued by guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The government order approving the funds was published recently, the minister’s office said," reports TOI.
The funds will help the HUDCO-built buildings in getting its ceilings re-plastered. In addition to this, the tiles will also be replaced. Moreover, around 450 police quarters will also get minor repairs.
Remaining part of the funds will be spent in constructing D, E, F-type barracks as well as internal roads of the police colony. PWD will undertake this project.
Bawankule’s office has also managed to get Rs 32 lakh for the construction of Nandanvan police station in the city.
