The 25th silver jubilee edition of Compex-25 2017 held at Kasturchand Park, Nagpur from 12th to 16th January ended yesterday on a high. Organized every year by VCMDWA, Compex-25, sponsored by Intex and in association with Government of Maharashtra and Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation, was a roaring success and the response of visitor footfall was simply overwhelming, this year too.
More than 200 participants with the major industry players who participated at Compex-25 are Intex, Samsung, HP, Dell, Brother, HTC Mobiles, Panasonic and many more significant players from the IT domain. The participants’ feedback was very positive and they have all expressed complete satisfaction on the basis of the huge response received by them. The huge footfall to Compex-25 delivered many hot leads to the companies and firms and they all are excited and expecting good conversion of these leads into sales.
Under the stewardship of Rajesh Saboo, President, Dinesh Naidu, Secretary, Vinay Dharmadhikari, Vice President and other organising committee members Prashant Bulbule, Treasure and Ranjit Umathe, Joint Secretary and all other VCMDWA members have worked tirelessly round the clock to stage Compex-25 and to make it a bigger success than the previous editions of CompEx. And indeed they have succeeded in their objective.
At the glittering and very well attended concluding valedictory ceremony Vinay Dharmadhikari, Vice President VCMDWA was at his compeering best recalling the journey of CompEx with many nostalgic and interesting anecdotes of how a seed sown 25 years ago with less than 20 stalls in the first CompEx has become a beautiful, huge and fruit bearing tree with CompEx size multiplying more than 10 times.
A much appreciated gesture this year by the organizing committee at the helm of CompEx-25 was the felicitation of all the past Presidents of VCMDWA for having played a very vital and growth oriented role in the progress movement of CompEx in their tenures. All the past Presidents Sudhir Budhey, Rakesh Khator, Sanjay Sinha, Hitesh Kothari, Mickey Chinoy, Ulhas Chandekar, Milind Chourey, Prashant Ugemuge, Vinod Verma and Arun Saxena were given a memento as a gesture of gratitude and towards acknowledging their being a part of the CompEx family with all their might and mite during these past 25 years. Every past President also shared interesting experiences that they had during their terms and how they have moved forward despite many challenges that came across their way.
On the occasion, the winner of the Hitavada-IT Quiz was chosen through a lucky draw of all correct entries received over several days, at the hands of Mr. Abhay Vaidya, Advertisement Manager and Mr. Rizwan, Marketing Manager, both representing The Hitavada. Pranay Bhede was the lucky winner of The Hitavada - IT Quiz and was presented with a Dell Tab. VCMDWA’s “Nagpur Next” IT Project Competition winners were also declared. The First Prize of Nagpur Next was won by Anjuman College of Engineering for the project nagpurstudents.org, a domain working on the “Digitization of the University Question Papers and providing the same online”. The second prize was won by Shree Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon for their “Java Chat Application: project while the third spot was all for the S.B. Jain College of Engineering for their project “Live College Bus Tracking System”.
Under the Nagpur Next initiative in the first time ever Gaming Zone with Gaming Contest the FIFA game was won by Vaibhav Atone, first prize and Paras Wankhede, second prize. The Smack Down game was won by Shiban Ali, first prize and Nikhil Rajurkar, second prize. Nagpur Next was ably handled by Rajesh Ganorkar of VCMDWA who took a lot of effort and initiative in making this a huge success.
Rajesh Saboo, President and Dinesh Naidu, Secretary, VCMDWA also spoke on the occasion. Rajesh Saboo thanked all the VCMDWA members for their tireless work in making Compex-25 this grand a success, all the participants, visitors, student volunteers of Tirpude College and Raisoni College, vendors, various government authorities for their prompt clearances and support.
A huge draw and attraction for the visitors during the valedictory ceremony was the live coverage of the event via a remote controlled Drone Camera device hovering all over the ground above the heads of the audience and visitors and projecting a live and spot projection on the huge LED Wall backdrop on the stage.
