Asia’s Biggest Tiger Missing From Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, Reward Of Rs. 50,000 Declared

Wildlife lovers and photographers have announced a cash prize of Rs 50,000 to one who gives right information about Asia's Biggest missing tiger 'Jai'.

The star tiger of the Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, Jai has been missing since April. Tourists have been addicted to the majestic roar of this tiger even though he was very rarely sighted by them. As he had found his mates in tigress Chandi and T6, in a year the tiger count had unexpectedly become 13 from 2.

According to reports, as Jai’s collar malfunctioned for the second time, his satellite location has been untraceable too. It has been more than three months that this huge, radio-collared tiger has not been sighted in and around Umred Karhandla.

This is sad news for wildlife lovers, who have now taken a stand to find out Jai and have also requested the Forest Department to deploy STPF staff from Pench Tiger Reserve and SRPF staff, in territorial divisions of Umred and Nagpur. Similar activity is to be undertaken in Brahmapuri territorial division too.


Not only that, wildlife lover and photographers have announced a cash reward of Rs. 50,000 to anyone who can help to find Jai or inform about his sighting anywhere. It is hoped that this would speed up the process of finding Jai at the earliest.
