Amitabh Bachchan has finally landed in the city to shoot for his upcoming film ‘Jhund’.
The legendary actor is in the city and even took to Twitter to share the excitement. He tweeted:
T 3014 - NAGPUR .. for 'Jhund' .. the new project by Nagraj , his first in Hindi, the maker of 'Sairat' the Marathi block buster .. a centre of attraction .. and NAGPUR, geographically apparently the centre of geographic India .. may the 2 centres thrive ! pic.twitter.com/e6GGMH3iSP— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) December 3, 2018
Nagraj Manjule is a critically acclaimed filmmaker known for films like ‘Sairat’ and 'Fandry' and 'Jhund' will be his first Hindi film.
‘Jhund’ is reportedly based on the life of Vijay Barse, who is the founder of NGO Slum Soccer.
Vijay Barse has rehabilitated street kids by keeping them off drugs and crime and helped them become soccer players.
"No other actor fits the role, only Mr Bachchan can do justice to this particular character. All the others in the film are newcomers since I am known to work with fresh talent. The combination of Mr Bachchan and this young team will be something to look forward to," the director previously said.
The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, Savita Raj Hiremath, Manjule under the banner of T-Series Films, Taandav Films Entertainment Ltd, and Aatpat.
Excited about the film TOI quoted Nagraj as saying, "Meri yeh zidd thi ki woh Nagpur aaye, aur woh aa gaye. I can't be happier and looking forward to shooting with him. We'll start shooting with him in a couple of days. However, rehearsals for his part have already begun. He'll be in the city for almost a month."
