Nagpur is one of the greenest city in India. And NMC, aw well as Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation, is trying it’s best to maintain it’s position.
There are a lot of changes taking place in Nagpur ever since the work of Nagpur Metro has started. One of the measures taken by Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation is that they have created a vertical garden on four metro pillars near the Pride Hotel, Wardha Road.
These vertical gardens consisting of around 1300 plants is created by a Pune-based company ‘Corona Green’. The pillars are constructed in an area of 600 sq. ft and are 30 ft long. Plants like, euphorbia, yucca, and sansevieria are planted on the pillar. All these plants require low maintenance, provide high amounts of oxygen & need 60ml of water a day.
The picture of the pillar was posted on the official facebook page of Nagpur Metro Rail
