The amazing Tom Hardy, who almost stole the limelight from Leo DiCaprio in The Revenant, is also a TV regular. Soon to hit the tube is his latest series, Taboo.
The series, co-produced with his father Chips Hardy and writer-director Steven Knight, is also written by Tom Hardy. From the full-length trailer that was recently released, Taboo appears to be about James Keziah Delaney, a British adventurer who has been given up for dead. He returns to seek vengeance for his father's death and stake his claim to the latter's shipping empire. But added to this otherwise run-of-the-mill story is a dash of supernaturalism, black magic, and the unreliability of the protagonist himself.
The trailer is all things dark, visceral and bizarre. Also starring Jonathan Pryce, Michael Kelly and Oona Chaplin, the series will go on air on BBC One on January 7, 2017.
