There is no doubt that Virat Kohli‘s magnificent 122 was instrumental in India chasing down 350 against England in Pune. Also his huge knock on Sunday was the 15th time he had scored a century in a successful run chase, which put him one ahead of his idol Sachin Tendulkar.
So Kohli's career is a road uphill which he seems to be conquering in all pace and style!
Former England skipper Nasser Hussain compared Kohli to Real Madrid and Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo while giving his analysis on Sky Sports.
And looks, style, or being on top of his game (having a sexy girlfriend or being in the headlines forever), we couldnt agree with the commentator more!
“I think what Kohli is trying to do is push the boundary and raise the bar of everything he does,” said Hussain.
"No-one says to him ‘being captain in three forms is too much for you’, no one says ‘you can chase 300 but can you chase 350 from 63-4?’"
“I read out here that he prefers (Cristiano) Ronaldo to (Lionel) Messi. Messi was given a lot of natural ability but he prefers Ronaldo, who has made himself the footballer that he is and pushed himself on and off football pitch and that is what Kohli has done in cricketing terms,” added Hussain.
Similarly, during the lunch break, Sky Sports had aired one of its Masterclass interviews between the Indian skipper and Nasser Hussain. Kohli spoke candidly about his mental and technical processes and how he just saw any target as a challenge, and the more dangerous the attack the better.
