The stand-up specials on Netflix were all about Russell Peters, Kevin Hart and Amy Schumer until one Indian just got himself a place on this huge international platform.
Homegrown standup comedian, actor, columnist and musician Vir Das is tickling people’s funny bones on Netflix with his stand-up special Abroad Understanding. You will feel proud to know that he became the first Indian to get his stand-up special on Netflix.
He made it all Indian:
The first thing that caught our attention was the beautifully crafted stage. You get to see a cutout of the very famous Taj Mahal in the starry night, eight clocks and a good looking Indian making people laugh. How much more Indian does it get?
He debuted on Netflix on 25 April and ever since, he has been creating a storm on the Internet. His recent take on racism in his own motherland and the effects on the ‘broad’ prospect will open your eyes to your hypocrisy.
Vir, in his latest video on racism made these valid points and we cannot help but agree!
About two fat balding paunchy Delhi men and a beautiful foreigner:
He opens your mind up to the reality, that while two men are creeping this lady out, they still manage to respectfully call her “MADAM”.
And did you realise that this is not actually the first BREXIT that has happened?
Vir had a lesson or two for Britain as well, given its unintentional exit from countries like America, India, and Africa.
He made it all about uncomfortable realities, but he asks you to hang in there with him as he serves you with a ‘Happy Ending’.
Here is how this he proves us Indians to be Racist-ish:
