Yes! This old man from The Nightswatch has left the mortal world for better.
RIP Peter Vaughan.
Best known for his roles in the famous sitcom Porridge, the actor had a career in theatre, television and film spanning more than 75 years. He has had the opportunity to work with the likes of Sir Anthony Hopkins, Frank Sinatra and Ronnie Barker.
Despite the fact that he appeared only in three episodes of Porridge, his character Harry Grout is still a favourite for many.
The ace actor will be most remembered for his role of the learned Aemon Targaryen at The Wall which garnered him a lot of love and respect from his fans in every generation.
Unlike his character Maester Aemon who was a rare person in Westeros to die of old age and managed to survive to age 100, his agent confirmed that he died surrounded by his family this morning at the ripe age of 93.
