India registered yet another victory over England in the third test on fourth day in Mohali by 8 wickets. India continued their extraordinary run of form at home when they literally dominated England over the entire four days and won maximum sessions in the match leaving the English fumbling for answers. India now gain an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 5 match series and stand as strong favorites to win this series comfortably.
Virat led the young brigade with great excellence and the supreme all-round display from R Ashwin was too much to handle for the England side. India now seems to be nearly invincible over their home turf with current series of amazing cricketing displays. Lots of positives came out of the match for the Indian side especially the daunting performances from seam bowlers Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav who outperformed their English counterparts with great conviction. The spin trio of Ashwin, Jadeja and Jayant Yadav seems to be growing in confidence with every match. The teen batsman Haseeb Hameed put on a gritty performance at the end to give the England side something to defend for. Unfortunately a target of 103 wasn’t enough for the in-form Indian side who chased the target with great ease, thanks to Parthiv Patel’s quick fire 67 of just 54 balls.
This defeat puts the English side in great conundrum and pressure going into the third match at Mumbai. A loss of this magnitude will certainly be hard to deal with. The English side will have to play out of their skins to pull off an unlikely comeback and give the Barmy-Army something to cheer for.
