It all started when Instagram went the Snapchat way by introducing the story feature that disappears within 24 hours. Soon, Whatsapp too joined the bandwagon!
The flak that it received from the users was so much that the Whatsapp officials were forced to bring the old status feature in the new update. It was also predicted that Facebook will add something similar just to avert the FOMO (fear of missing out). Hence, with its new update, Facebook introduced the same feature and everyone just lost it.
Same feature and four different apps, does it make any sense? The answer is, a big NO!
While the decision to introduce 24-hour stories received mixed response from the users and tech experts, Twitterati, on the other hand, tried taking potshots and the result was hilarious. Twitter users imagined that if the recent trend is followed blindly, then books, medieval manuscripts, KFC and even vegetables will also have stories, in the near future.
