In a tragic incident, three tigers mauled a tourist to death in front of his family at Youngor Wildlife Park in Ningbo, Eastern China.
According to some media reports, these wild cats attacked the man when he entered the enclosure after climbing the wall to avoid paying for the ticket. One tiger was shot dead by the zoo officers to save the man.
In some pictures posted on social media, the wild cats were seen biting and clawing the young man’s body. Some horrifying videos show one tiger latching onto the man while several other tigers stand by and watch.
A rescue operation was taken out by the zoo officials, which took more than an hour. Park staff used firecrackers and a water cannon to scare off the animals, but the assailant tiger continued his mauling. The man was eventually rushed to the hospital where he was declared death.
An eyewitness told the South China Morning Post: "I saw the tiger mauling the person, whose face was covered with blood. Every time he sat up, the tiger pushed him down again."
This is the second such attack to occur in China over the last six months. A similar incident took place when a woman was seriously injured by a tiger at Badaling Wildlife World after she got out of her car and was dragged away. When her mother tried to save the girl she was mauled to death by another tiger.
