Christopher Nolan is one of the best directors working today, language no bar. His surreal range of work that has spanned a comic-book based trilogy (The Dark Knight Trilogy), two psychological thrillers (Memento and Insomnia), a period piece (The Prestige), a mind-bending drama (Inception) and a space-set tearjerker (Interstellar) are loved and adored by millions across the globe. It is not wonder that Warner Bros. (the studio behind ALL of these movies) has never let go of him. After all, how many directors hold such mass appeal when it comes to blockbuster movie-making?
Perhaps this is the reason that he has added another feather to his cap. He is officially the highest-paid movie director of the world now. Per The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Nolan earned $20 million before starting the movie, i.e. upfront and will get 20% of the gross receipts as well. If you take into account the possible gross for a new Christopher Nolan movie set during World War-II that stars actors like Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies), well, safe to say the director can add approximately $70 million-$80 million more to his purse, taking his total earnings to approximately north of $100 million!
That’s a mind-bending figure for sure!
