The first trailer for Aamir Khan's hugely anticipated wrestling drama Dangal has hit the net.
The movie follows the story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat from Haryana who taught wrestling to two of his daughters, Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat. While Babita won the Silver Medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Geeta became the first woman ever to win the Gold Medal at the competition in wrestling.
The trailer is a swell showcase of the masterclass in acting that is Aamir Khan but rightfully puts the focus on his daughters. The movie is a far cry from another wrestling drama released earlier this year, Sultan, as instead of focusing on the hero-worship of a particular character, it chooses to portray the intimate relationship of a father with his daughters chasing a dream, and the complexities therein.
There are high expectation from this one and hopefully, they'll be met in the best way possible.
The movie has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari and will hit theaters across the nation on December 23, 2016.
