While the most of us still can’t get over the demise of India’s popular actor Sridevi, here comes a yet another sad news from the film fraternity.
To all, who have grown up watching the amazing Toy Story are surely aware of the lead character of the film- Woody. A lot many out there know that, though it was Tom Hanks and Tim Allen who gave their voices to the characters of Woody and Buzz Lightyear; but only few know that it was Bud Luckey who brought these lifeless characters to life.
Bud left us at the age of 83 and was an extremely talented animator and has been the part of wonderful creations in Pixar.
Pixar artist Bud Luckey passed away today. He'll be most remembered for his designs and voice acting (He was Mr. Dicker in The Incredibles), but I'll remember him most for directing the short Boundin'. I'll miss him. pic.twitter.com/0aqc8UC38s— Animated Antic (@Animated_Antic) February 24, 2018
Bud Luckey was an MVP at Pixar, mainly known for his iconic character designs (in fact, he's responsible for for many characters like Woody being the way they are).— Paul Movie (@RobMovie2) February 24, 2018
But I'll always remember him as the best modern voice of Eeyore. #RIPBudLuckey pic.twitter.com/oLQU3BJGGa
"Now sometimes you're up and sometimes you're down when you find out well, just look around you still got a good body good legs and fine feet get you're head in the right place and hey you're complete!" - R.I.P Bud Luckey (1934-2018) pic.twitter.com/eUtfJBbT2K— The Movie Reviewer (@TheMovieReview5) February 24, 2018
Taking a look at his journey of animation- Bud started his career by serving in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War.Later, he attended Chouinard Art Institute. Here on commenced his artistic journey of animation in the year of 1960 as an art director and producer for an advertising agency. He worked for Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops and Rice Krispies. In few years he also worked for the Sesame Street and did a bit of voice work for it.
In 1990, Bud joined Pixar as a character designer, storyboard artist and animator. His first project as an animator was Woody from Toy Story.
Apart from this distinguished character, Bud’s stupendous work has been featured in films like- A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, Toy Story 3.
Moving ahead from sketching characters, he has also worked on the voice projects for Chuckles the clown Eeyore- Winnie the Pooh and Jackalope.
With huge respect for his amazing contribution in the animated world, we wish his soul to rest in peace.
