The first trailer for legendary director Martin Scorsese's next movie, titled Silence has his the net.
Based on Japanese author Shūsaku Endō's acclaimed 1966 novel of the same name, the movie follows two Portuguese Catholic priests in 17th century Japan as they journey across the nation to locate their mentor who has been accused of denouncing the faith.
Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider Man) and Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) play the two priests and Liam Neeson (Taken) plays their mentor.
From the looks of it, this sure seems like a sweeping epic and a tale of violence and persecution. More than the lush visuals and the enchanting photography, it looks like one helluva acting showcase for Garfield, in particular.
The movie will hit theatres on December 23, 2016.
