Shah Rukh Khan's promotional train journey has gone all South as police had to resort to lathi-charge upon the crazy crowd who went berserk after seeing the superstar, causing a near-stampede at the Vadodara railway station.
Yesterday, he boarded August Kranti express from Mumbai that would run up to Delhi. In a terrifying incident, one person died due to breathlessness as people piled on each other to see Shah Rukh, who was there to promote his upcoming film ‘Raees’.
The victim was Farid Khan, an ardent Shah Rukh fan and had come to the railway station with his wife and daughter to catch a glimpse of the star. As soon as the train left, thousands of people who were gathered there hurried towards the exit gate of the station, creating utter confusion and chaos. It was during this time that Farid Khan and some others collapsed under the onslaught of people.
Farid was rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival, which was also confirmed by the family.
Two RPF constables also collapsed during the chaos that ensued after SRK’s visit. The constables are undergoing treatment at SSG hospital and are said to be out of danger.
