Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi starrer Haraamkhor is all set to hit the silver screen on this Friday (13th Jan) with Ok Jannu.
Shweta Tripathi, who also featured in Neeraj Ghaywan’s Masaan, was appreciated a lot by the critics.
In an interview with Indian Express, Shweta stated that she doesn't like commercial cinema that reduces a female character to an object. She doesn't watch the cinema which requires you to "leave your brain at home".
Shweta said, "I don’t understand mindless films, I don’t watch the kind of cinema where people say ‘leave your brain at home’ and watch. What is even that? I would never want to be treated as a prop, to be looked on as an object just because of my gender. That I am very sure about"
The talented actress had worked in critically acclaimed short films "Sujata" and "Shorts" before getting her big break in Masaan.
Directed by Shlok Sharma, Haraamkhor shows romance between 14-year-old school student and her teacher. Check out the trailer below -
