All the trolling on the web for propagating arranged marriage or being slammed for cracking jokes about his 14-year age difference with wife Mira Rajput on Karan Johar's chat show failed to aggravate Shahid Kapoor.
In an interview Shahid calmly said, "A mainstream star having an arranged marriage is peculiar. Not everyday a Bollywood actor goes and marries someone nobody even knows of. I am an actor. Most parts of my life are sure to be up for discussion, by default. It won't stop whether I like it or not. If people cross the line, we do get displeased. But the line itself is wide. We can't be touchy and say, bhai mere baare mein koi baat nahin karega.”
Defending his wife saying that she has a mind of her own and cannot be undermined, the Shaandaar star further adds, “Mira seems pretty chilled out about what's written. My wife decides what she wants to do, where she wants to go, how she wants to go and who is allowed in the house. It is natural. In fact, that's how it should be.”
Shahid is currently working on his upcoming drama film ‘Padmavati’, which also features Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. It is scheduled to release in November. He also has the release of ‘Rangoon’ coming up which is all set to hit the theatres on February 24.
