Remember that scene in Sherlock when Holmes asks Anderson to shut up lest he should “lower the IQ of the whole street”? By that logic, the mental competence of Indian telly viewers must be running into negative figures, thanks to a certain travesty called Sasural Simar Ka that has been bombarded on viewers for five years now. But that is all coming to an end.
For the (fortunately) uninitiated, Sasural Simar Ka is a show on the channel Colors. Wikipedia says it started in 2011, although it feels like it was what prompted the British to leave India.
Nevertheless, after (only) five years of protagonists turning into
snakes flies, protagonists turning into other protagonists, demon babies, and a guest appearance by the House of Black and White from Game of Thrones, the show is coming to an end. And some people cannot contain their happiness.
The Facebook page Sabki Maa Cine-Maa has shared the glorious news with its followers.
