For the past few days, news of a 19 year old Iranian, Sahar Tabar undergoing multiple plastic surgeries to look like Angelina Jolie, is spreading like wildfire. The teenager has also lost a lot of weight to look like the actress.
Unfortunately for Sahar, the results were disastrous and in no time, the whole world was talking about it.
As soon as her look went viral, the internet started calling her names like 'Walking Dead', Tim Burton's 'Corpse Bride' and even 'Yzma' from The Emperor's New Groove.
However in this bemusing internet age where fake news sells quicker, it is difficult to gauge the authenticity of a news. Initially, it was speculated that the Iranian girl sneakily used a combination of make-up, prosthetics and her Photoshop skills to produce the photos. But later she also came up with a video where she is looked a little more normal than the previously surfaced pictures.
According to Snopes, Tabar has finally spoken about the controversial photos. She revealed that she had undergone several surgeries but not definitely not 50! She also brings attention to the fact that makeup and technology were used to doctor the photos.
According to the website, "While most reports on the subject relied on Tabar's official Instagram account, which has amassed 447,000 followers, another Instagram account using Tabar'sname rebuffed the allegations that she had experienced as many as 50 surgeries in a 28 November post".
The site even linked it to her Instagram account but turns out her account is private. However, the website then quoted what the post apparently said:
"Hello relatively dear followers, the picture that you're scrutinizing, even though I didn't like it, I kept it in ... I must say I only had [indeterminate number of] surgery, not 50 surgeries, and foreign sites and channels were very biased in the way they talked about my photos.
"I thought these people are probably living in the 18th century and they haven't seen or heard of technology or makeup and they are really surprised."
Even after all this, we don't know anything about the authenticity of the story! Prosthetics or not, she still is scary! Whaasay?
