As many actresses including Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, and Jessica Chastain are reportedly wearing black in the upcoming Golden Globes to protest against the harassment and assault in Hollywood, Actress Rose McGowan doesn’t find it a good idea of protest.
Rose McGowan, who is also one of the several women who accused movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, called out Meryl Streep for her silence.
Referring to the Weinstein scandal, Rose took to Twitter:
“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa.”
Some time back, the media reported that more than 30 female actresses including nominees and presenters of the 2018 Golden Globes have vowed to wear all black at this year’s ceremony.
Rose McGowan also recently called out her former Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano for supporting Chapman during her divorce process.
Vulture quoted her statement saying,
“You make me want to vomit. You actually gave me a body flashback. Well done, fake one. Alyssa, maybe you and Georgina can call up Camille Cosby.”
Let's see what happens in this year's Golden Globes ceremony!
