Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai is an inspiration for the whole world. Her story is not only inspiring but eye-opening for many who still don't support girls' education. Malala’s journey is path-breaking, awe-inspiring and stands as an example of sheer grit and courage.
Her heart-touching journey from the Swat Valley in Pakistan to some of the world's biggest platforms, the UN is soon be turned into a biopic, titled Gul Makai.
Directed by Amjad Khan and produced by Anand Kumar, the film has already completed 50% of its shooting.
While the iconic role of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala will be playing by TV actress Reem Sheikh, the late Om Puri, Divya Dutta (who will be seen in the role of Malala’s mother) and Ragini Khanna will also be seeing in the film.
Reem Sheikh was earlier seen in TV shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha. She also played a role in the Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar-starrer Wazir.
According to the media report, Reem is preparing very hard for the film - she has been training to perfect her diction, mannerisms and body language, in order to portray the role of the most loved Pakistani activist as convincingly as possible.
Reem also shared the poster of the film on her Instagram.
"The biopic is 50 per cent finished and I am super curious to bring it to the silver screen soon. We have already shot the war sequences and other important schedules. Now we will be shooting with our Malala in Kashmir," Kumar said while speaking to IANS in early August.
