The PNS Ghazi was a Pakistani submarine which is said to have sunk under mysterious circumstances during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. While the Pakistani navy maintains that it sank due to an internal explosion, the Indian navy claims that it was hit and sunk by the Indian destroyer INS Rajput, in retaliation to an offensive.
While theories continue to do the rounds, The Ghazi Attack, directed by newbie Sankalp Reddy, has released its first trailer. The film exploring this enigma boasts of a stellar cast which includes the late Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni, Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon and Taapsee Pannu.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of the events that led up to the sinking of the PNS Ghazi, with a reminder that this was a classified operation back then, hence unknown to the populace. While the underwater warfare graphics are run-of-the-mill, we can expect some powerful performances and compelling storytelling in this offbeat film.
