“What isn’t thin, is fat. There is no in-between.”
Marathi cinema sweetheart Priya Bapat’s latest outing, Vazandar has this unapologetic line to help out people struggling to find compliments for people on the “healthier” side.
The film, directed by National Film Awardee Sachin Kundalkar, deals with issues of body image, fat-shaming and loving yourself regardless of what shape you are. The film also stars Sai Tamhankar along with Bapat.
Priya Bapat recently added a picture of herself after putting on a fair amount of weight, 16 kg to be exact, to look her part in the film.
What’s more, she also lost this weight after the film was shot, and narrated her journey in this short video.
The video explains how the journey from skinny to heavy and back has made her more conscious of her well-being. You can be any size you want to be, but one thing you should not take for granted, is your health. And at the end of the day, that is all that matters.
Thank you for this lovely message, Priya!
Vazandar hits theatres on November 11.
