What would your university do if they are unable to find your photo? If you are thinking, “they’ll ask for another one, what else”, you might not be entirely right! If you are in Agra University, they might just stick a photo of a film star!
I am not kidding.
The Agra University released a marksheet of a first year BA student with Salman Khan’s photo on it! Yes, they actually did that! The mark sheet had the picture of Salman Khan but marks of a student who had scored 35 per cent marks in the first year of BA.
What looks hilarious on the surface, actually speaks volumes about the negligence in the education system in Uttar Pradesh.
What is surprising is that this incident has come to light barely 2 weeks before President Ramnath Kovind is expected to be part of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Agra University’s convocation to distribute medals and certificate to students.
An official said that he had found several mark sheets with discrepancies including one bearing a passport size picture of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. The mark sheet, according to the reports, belonged to a student of Amrita Singh Memorial Degree College, Aligarh, affiliated to Agra University.
“There were scores of other mark sheets as well, in which student’s names were wrongly printed as Bhimrao Ambedkar instead of their original name on the mark sheet. Chances of such kind of mistakes are more at the private agency level, who was hired for printing mark sheet,” said a source was quoted by The Times of India.
However, Public relation officer GS Sharma said that they have not received any complaint regarding any such discrepancy.
