BJP Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj has again come up with a controversial statement. Sakshi Maharaj, who is well known for making inflammatory remarks, recently said that there is no land for burial of Muslims in India.
This statement has come out a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his comment on 'qabristan-shamshaan' while attending an election rally in Uttar Pradesh.
Here is what Maharaj said on the matter:
"Whether it is named qabristan (graveyard) or shamshaan (crematoriums), nobody needs to be buried. There are 2-2.5 crore Hindu saints in this country who should have a memorial after their death. That will require land. There is 20 crore Muslims, all of them need a grave. Where is the land in Hindustan?"
(Chaahe naam kabristan ho, chaahe shamshan ho, daah hona chahiye, kisi ko gaadne ki aveshyakta nahin hai).
As the Uttar Pradesh election enters into the last 2 phases, PM Modi, while conducting an election really in Fatehpur, had said.
“If there is electricity in the graveyard and during Ramzan, it must also be available in a crematorium and during Diwali. There should be no discrimination”.
(Agar kabristan me bijli hai to shamshaan me bhi honi chahiye. Agar Ramzan mein bijli aati hai, to Diwali me bhi aani chahiye, bhedbhav nahi hona chahiye)
On the matter, Maharaj went on to say that Hindus do not need space for graves while Muslim demands are rising.
Earlier Sakshi Maharaj was in news when he said Muslims are responsible for increasing population
“This population rise in not because of the Hindus. Population has risen due to those who support the concept of four wives and 40 children”
Here are some Twitter reactions to the statement.
