To say that Nida Fazli helped shape Urdu and Hindi poetry during his lifetime would be doing a gross disservice to the great soul. He was one of the most loved and one of the few prolific auteurs who composed and wrote both in Hindi and Urdu.
His writing represented various moods of life. From love, religion, faith, to his pain of losing his parents to partition, he let his thoughts loose on everything. Like any great writer, his creations were deeply personal and not just his poetry but also his work in cinema stands as proof of the same.
He was honoured with the Padma Shri for his contribution to literature.
Sadly, he left us a year ago. Here is our attempt to bring to you a piece of his genius.
