Realising your own dreams gives you great satisfaction, but what’s more satisfying is fulfilling dreams of your loved ones. Rahul Bodke’s success is one such story!
Hailing from Nashik, Rahul is all set to represent India for the World Wrestling Entertainment tryouts in Dubai Opera, and fulfill his father’s dream.
Rahul’s grandfather and father were also wrestlers, so it’s no surprise that wrestling is in his genes.
And Rahul’s wrestling journey is a manifestation of his talent and hard work.
Rahul Bodke was the champion of ‘Maharashtra Kesari Kushti’ in 2014, a wrestling tournament that has been conducted in the Indian state of Maharashtra since 1961. He has also won a wrestling championship in Karnataka as well as the ‘Hind Kesari’ championship.
It is said that success stems from a struggle. Bodke too had to face many bumps in his way to become a wrestler.
Bodke revealed that his father, who is a cab driver by profession, had to give up wrestling to earn the daily bread.
He was quoted while talking to Loksatta,
“I am hoping to become a WWE wrestler very soon, and plan on making my state and nation proud. I want to fulfil the dream my father once saw for himself,” he said.
"As a child I would love to wrestle in the mud. As I grew up I knew I was made for this, but had to do odd jobs to support the family. However, now that I know this is my calling, I want to pursue this and make everyone proud," Rahul added.
We are positive that Rahul will qualify for the tryouts and will make India proud.
Reacho wishes Rahul all the best!
