The national anthem will be played every morning at 7.

Although, the residential schools in the state claim that they have been practicing the ritual of singing the national anthem, this tradition has now been extended to government-aided hostels.

This diktat mandates to all 789 government hostels with 40,000 students and 22 residential schools across the state.

According to a report by Zee News, the state education board made 'Surya Namaskar' compulsory in schools last year, although later it was made optional.

This directive comes a month after the Jaipur Municipal Corporation was asked to begin the day with the national anthem and end it off by singing Vande Mataram.

''This will help in building positive culture, energy and instill nationalism," said Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoti in support of the diktat.

Lahoti further added that anyone not willing to sing it, ''can go to Pakistan!''

The principal secretary of the (SJE) department Dr. Samith Sharma said that this custom of singing the national anthem is not new, but it was not being followed since past few years. Hence, to make it a daily practice the state government has issued this diktat.
