La La Land Makes A Clean Sweep At The 74th Golden Globe Awards, Moonlight Wins Best Drama

The critically and commercially acclaimed La La Land made a clean sweep with seven awards in one night which included one for the Best Motion Picture.

The festivity of awards started with a bang as they announced the 74th Golden Globe Awards at the Hilton Hotel located in at the hip zone Beverly Hills. As top notch actors and filmmakers gathered in the arena, stakes were raised to see takes the glory home.

The critically and commercially acclaimed La La Land made a clean sweep with seven awards in one night which included Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, Best Director and Best Screenplay and Motion Picture for the talented Damien Chazelle. Best Original Song was bagged by "City of Stars". Justin Hurwitz won the Best Original Score.

And, as everybody expected, the Best Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy was handed to Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone,

The Best Motion Picture, Drama award went to Moonlight, The Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama went to Casey Affleckfor his meaty role in Manchester By The Sea while the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama went to Isabelle Huppert for Elle.

As far as television is concerned, Donald Glover won the Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for Atlanta while Claire Foy won the Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama for The Crown. Netflix's The Crown also won the Best TV Series in Drama category.

The British hearthrob Tom Hiddleston won his first Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film in The Night Manager.

Meryl Streep was awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.

Best TV Series, Comedy or Musicalwent to Atlanta, FX. Zootopia was named the Best Animated Feature while Elle (France) the Best Foreign Film.

Amongst other winners were Olivia Colman, The Night Manager, Viola Davis, Fences, Hugh Laurie, The Night Manager,Tracee Ellis Ross, Black-ish, Billy Bob Thornton, Goliath, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Nocturnal Animals and Sarah Paulson from The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
