The Pokhran event was a step forward for India as a global player and the story is indeed worth telling. And what better way to make every Indian relive those events than making a movie?
The good news is there soon will be one that will paint the picture of the Pokhran events on-screen.
The film will tell all the details of the nuclear test India conducted in Pokhran in 1998 and will be directed by Abhishek Sharma. The element of surprise though is the fresh and unexpected pairing of Diana Penty and John Abraham. Jointly produced by John Abraham Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment, the film will go on floors on May 30.
The diva, model and actress Diana Penty started her Bollywood journey with Cocktail and was last seen in "Happy Bhag Jayegi" after a long gap. She recently finished her upcoming project Lucknow Central and will soon start her work on Pokhran Project.
In an interview, she said, "I've always wanted to be a part of stories that are compelling. The events at Pokhran were historic for India and changed the way the world perceived us. I'm fortunate to be in the team that will recreate that piece of history on screen. Both production houses are known for the variety in their content. Also, it's an exciting time to be part of the film fraternity because there are incredible stories waiting to be told."
