Once again the so-called cultured detractor and chief of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)Pahlaj Nihalani is again ready with his sword to chop down dialogues and scenes of an upcoming Bollywood film. And this time the new victim is Imtiaz Ali’s Shah Rukh starrer ‘Jab Harry met Sejal’.
Nihalani has a concern with the word “intercourse” used in one of the mini trailers of the film. The trailer features the two Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan can be seen discussing sex and an indemnity bond. In the particular scene, Anushka aka Sejal offers Shah Rukh aka Harry an indemnity bond so that in case if they get intimate he will escape any legal charges.
While talking to a TV channel he said: “You take voting from the public and I will clear the word (intercourse) on the promo and the film also. I want 1 lakh votes and I want to see that India has changed and Indian families want their 12-year-old kids to understand the meaning of this word (intercourse).”
Nihalani had objected that the uncensored trailer being broadcast on television channels, facing a lot of flak in the process.
Three teasers or mini trailers have been released by the makers of the film. However, the second trailer created the conflict over one word.
Well, the channel is running Twitter poll asking Indians to vote if they find the word 'intercourse' acceptable.
