Italian government has declared a unique scheme under which they are giving 500 euros to all the teenagers who turn 18. Started in September 2016, it is given as a “Cultural Bonus” for all the teens who have turned adults!
Reportedly, the government will have to spend more than 250 million for this. The teens have to just download an app called 18app.it and they will have a year to spend the money.
The aim of this costly initiative is to encourage young people to read more, spend time at museums, attend theater performances and visit some of the country’s 24 national parks.
“This is a bonus for kids coming of age, to give them the symbolic awareness of what it means to be an adult in Italy – a main protagonist and heir of the greatest cultural heritage in the world.” the Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said.
About to turn 18? Rush to Italy!
