The drug menace in Philippines is terrifying. Countless of people, directly or indirectly are involved in the business which threatened to destabilise the entire country. When Rodrigo Duterte came in power this year, he promised to put an end to this problem and ordered police to carry out summary executions. At the same time he has also urged his citizens to take up arms against the drug lords.
He has been dubbed “The Punisher” for his brutal approach against this issue. While many have questioned his way of dealing with the issue, the majority of the filipinos support him and want this go forward.
According to Communications Office Secretary Martin Andanar, 60,000 drug dependents have surrendered to authorities till date.
