Potterheads Celebrate 'Hogwarts Day' At King's Cross Station

#19yearslater: JK Rowling celebrates the day Harry Potter’s son goes to Hogwarts.

Remember that epic '19 Years Later' epilogue from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ? Well, today is that day.

Yes, September 1, 2017 is the day when Harry’s son Albus Severus Potter would board the Hogwarts Express from the platform 9 ¾ at the King's Cross Station.

“Today's the day Albus Severus Potter boards the Hogwarts Express at King's Cross for the first time #19yearslater”, JK Rowling tweeted in the morning.


1st September is marks a very important day for all Harry Potter fans; it’s the first day of school at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, also known as Hogwarts Day. Witches and wizards from all over the country flocked to King's Cross, St Pancras this morning to fling themselves through a brick wall and onto the famous Platform 9 3/4.

Earlier today,  Rowling tweeted, “If you're at King's Cross, the Potter, Granger-Weasley and Malfoy families are there too.”

The Kings Cross station too, confirmed the departure of the Hogwarts Express, posting the details of the magical journey on its departure boards.

And, as a result of this announcement, Potterheads are trying to boards the train.






Express.co.uk visited the station early this morning and went to the magical platform, where some fans who have been waiting since 5 am said the Harry Potter shop next door teased that a surprise visit could be expected. Turns out, there was a little surprise waiting for them there.
