Terry Bryant won an award at the Academy Awards 2018!
Wait, who is Terry Bryant?
Well, that’s what the world echoed in unison when the chap took to Facebook to announce his win.
Bryant posted a video saying: “Sup babies, look, my team got this tonight. Who wants to tell me congratulations?” “This is mine. We got it tonight, baby!”
This 47-year-old bloke, dressed in a tux came to the ceremony and nicked away Frances McDormand’s Oscar trophy and claimed he won it for music.
The ones around Bryant congratulated him for his feat and even asked him if they could touch the trophy once. Nobody had an iota of suspicion that the trophy belonged to McDormand.
The ceremony’s presenter, Jimmy Kimmel hosted the after party where Bryant was heard asking for directions. An onlooker replied: “That’s your ticket to any party you want to go to.”
Frances McDormand had won the award for her role in the movie ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’. Her impactful acceptance speech included two words ‘Inclusion clause’, which meant greater inclusion of women and other minority in the film industry.
The actress was seen celebrating at the Governors Ball party soon after Sunday night’s 90th Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood. But the happiness did not last long as the trophy got stolen from her table by Bryant.
It was Cara Buckley, a New York Times reporter, who acted vigilantly and posted a photo of Bryant on Twitter. She mentioned that a photographer of chef Wolfgang Puck stopped Bryant and took away the statuette from him.
Terry Bryant was then arrested on charges of felony grand theft and was held on a bail of $20,000.
A man who apparently swiped Frances McDormand’s Oscar trophy boasted about it on Facebook, claiming he won it for music, before being arrested on suspicion of felony grand theft. According to Los Angeles police department spokesperson, Bryant had a ticket to the event.
McDormand’s publicist, Simon Halls, said: “After some brief time apart, Frances and her Oscar were happily reunited. They celebrated the reunion with a double cheeseburger from In-N-Out Burger.”
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences issued a statement:
“Best Actress winner Frances McDormand and her Oscar were happily reunited after a brief separation at last night’s Governors Ball. The alleged thief was quickly apprehended by a photographer and members of our fast-acting Academy and security teams.”
