India lost 3-0 against the US on the opening day of the 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup in their first group game. Despite having strong support from the fans at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi, the Indian team failed to turn up when it mattered the most and were always the second best.

However, it was the fighting spirit of the men in blue that impressed the fans. Although the opposite team was the better side, there were a lot of bright moments in the match and a plethora of positives for the host nation to take away from the game.

Last night’s match was the tournament debut for India, who have never played in any form of a FIFA World Cup Before.

India will next take on Colombia on Monday, Oct 9th at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
